This is a growing archive of shots submitted by residents of the neighborhood. Visit it often!

These are homes on Oakland and Lawndale avenues. The Oakland Avenue name came from the Oakland Heights community in Old West Durham (near Green, Knox and Lawndale).

Craftsman style house, with full porch. (Lawndale, between Oakland and Alabama).

This house has an L-porch design. (Oakland, at Lawndale).

Another variation on the pyramid structure, displaying a variety of structural modifications and additions made to it over the years. (Oakland, corner of Knox).

A variation on the pyramid home (Oakland, corner of Green).

Tulips on Oakland, near traffic circle.

Working with the Pentecostal church, Bright Horizons day care center and the City, OWDNA got this pedestrian crosswalk placed across Oakland.

If anyone else has pictures of other OWD homes or landmarks, email me and either attach the scans, or arrange to drop off the pictures to me and I'll scan them and put them on the site.

    Thanks,
